Create one 3D champion and submit a 5-second vertical animation and a 2D trading card. The submission becomes a card in an actual playable community card game.
You submit two things.
Included in the official starter kit — the real submission requires these two files to match each other (#17, #18).
The submission link opens on 2026-08-15 (Sat) 02:00 KST. A file checker is provided — make sure your files pass it.
If any of these don't match, the submission will be rejected.
Violating these results in disqualification or exclusion from the Top 100.
Not used anywhere — concept, textures, or images. The announcement video spelled out the scope in more detail.
Premade assets and kitbash packs are allowed. Rule 07's "must be made by you alone" means no outsourcing the work, not a ban on using assets.
What you can make and what you can't.
"battle-ready" — the champion must be doing something that would affect the battlefield if played in the card game: attacking, casting a spell, making a tactical move, supporting, changing state, applying a buff/debuff, and so on.
This is the core of the design.
In other words, the 5 seconds split into two parts — frames 0-60 (2.5 seconds) of free direction, then frames 60-120 holding the card pose. Since one frame between 60 and 115 becomes the card art, that single frame is effectively the final deliverable.
The card in the 3D animation and the 2D submitted card must look the same (#18). Color, name, ability, and power level must also match (#17).
Apply post-processing to the 3D animation, but not to the 3D card frame (#18).
5 power levels · 8 colors · 35 abilities. Nothing outside this list can be used. Open the tool ↗
The "five shadows" mentioned in the brief text is narrative flavor, not the number of options. There are actually 8 options.
Color isn't decoration — it's a game mechanic. Swarm, Afflict, Rally, and Banish reference "the number of colors in play".
Power is the champion's health, attack power, and battle order all at once. Counting the 35 abilities by direction makes the design intent clear.
High power makes you a target; low power keeps you safe. Two things in particular are worth knowing.
Slayer unconditionally. "If the enemy's power is 5" is the entire trigger condition.Assassinate discards an enemy with exactly 1 more power than itself. Power 1 is completely immune to this (since there's no power 0). But with only 1 health, it dies instantly to any color-based 1 damage (Swarm, Rally, Afflict).Reanimate, Summon, and Quick all play a card "with higher power than this one." In other words, the lower this card's power, the wider the pool of eligible targets. At power 5, none of the three can trigger. That said, game balance is not part of judging (FAQ #19 states explicitly that you don't need to learn the game). What matters first is whether the art, name, and ability all fit together.
You can search by name or meaning.
The dropdown shuffles its order every time it loads. When selecting in Card Creator, look for the name, not the position.
The announcement video spelled out what top-tier renders need.
Clean animation, good composition, thoughtfulness, great lighting, and telling a story, and last, the ability to follow the rules.
If we get 100 beautiful, amazing entries but only one of them tells a story, first place will be too easy to pick.
Polish is the entry requirement; storytelling is the differentiator.
All times in KST.
